Baltimore City Protest

On April 12, 2015 Freddie Gray a 25 year old black male was arrested by the Baltimore City police officers. Mr. Gray was tackled down to the ground then restrained and placed in the back of a police van hollering and screaming evidently from the pain of the tackle. Witnesses video the incident some say that Mr. Gray was rolled up in a pretzel form. As consequent of this barbaric arrest young Freddie Gray died 7 days later from and 80% fracture to his spine and a crusted larynx.
The Baltimore Police department threw out the notion of any wrong doing by their officers. Trying to justify the arrest of this young man stating a supreme decision that states “if you are in a high crime area and flee unprovoked the police doesn’t need probable cause. Police say the young man looked him in the eyes then begin to run. Stating that they seen him with a spring out knife. Last I checked I don’t think that having a knife less than 6 inches in Baltimore city was a crime even still this so-called weapon has yet to be seen or produced in any manner. Five of the 6 officers gave statements on April 12, even though the Baltimore city bill of right’s state: Police officer’s don’t have to be questioned up to ten day’s after an incident involving bodily harm or death. I find this Bill to be ludicrous. This Bill gives the police department enough time to come up with the politically correct way to address and issue in their favor.
On Friday April 24, the police commissioner gave a press release about the incident. He express many different aspect’s of the situation. The van that Mr. Gray was handcuffed then shackled and drove around for minutes while in pain and requesting medical attention stop 3 times and even stopped at one point to shackle Mr. Gray. The procedure after arresting some on. The officer must then place them in the van in restrains. Him/her must be secured in the back of the vehicle upon transportation from point A to point B. In this matter this wasn’t[‘t the case the young man was left unsecured to bounce around in the back of the van. In serious pain.
Something happened in the back of that van was the cry that the representative of the fraternal order of police announced at a press conference. There is an unaccounted 43 to 48 minutes unspoken for. Yeah something happen in the back of the van before the man was put in the van, then after the van. The question is this was if police brutality or negligence I believe it was both. And at the end of the day another young man is deceased behind it. The F.O.P. is behind the officer’s 100%. But what about this 1 lone officer that refuses to give any statement, is this an exercise of his rights or pure arrogance because he know’s his people will protect him at all cost. Blood in Blood out.
There are 4 different agencies investigating this homicide let’s call in what it is. The D.O.J. B.P.D. the Baltimore city states attorneys office & also another independent investigation. Too many cooks in the kitchen if you ask me. How ever the citizens of Baltimore want’s answers. The mayor of the city has spoken for the people. Her office want’s answer’s or do they this is nothing new in the streets of Baltimore. For decades these same types of atrocities have been happening. Now enough is enough the people won’t take it any more. Since 2011 the city of Baltimore has paid out close to 7 million dollars in lawsuits to victims of police brutality & wrongful deaths. The culture of this police department is one of pure reckless disregarded for the citizens of Baltimore. How is it that the people that you are suppose to protect & serve are scared for their lives not from the robber or other miscreants in the street. But the one’s that are suppose to aid & assist in their time of need.
As the momentum grow’s stronger the people of Baltimore are taking strides to show the city. That enough is enough and they won’t take this any more. Chanting no justice, no peace. And moving in a peaceful manner toward a resolution. So that the Freddie Grays of Baltimore and all over this country will feel the effects of this matter. Mr. Michael Davey has called this protesters a lynch mob do to the style that they are using to protest. What a choice of word’s for a people under fire. By the real lynch mob the B.P.D. The people chose to stand their ground for a righteous cause. How dare you compare the people of Baltimore to that of those who committed those heinous acts in the south and other part’s of this county just for fun. They just want change. The governor has employed the services of the state trooper’s to help against the protester. I pray that they are only sent to neutralize the crowd’s in a peaceful manner. And not sent to do the same as the national guard and state troopers of Missouri did. Incite the people only to make things worst. The mission statement was to Go and deal with enemy combatants’s. Don’t paint the people enemy combatants they are the citizens of your state, County or City. We just want the facts and at this point the fact that only has been seen is a young man is dead.

My name is Rainbow Williams I'm from Balyimore city born and raised. I'm 36years old and I've been incarcerated for quite some time now. I'm into politics and world and social views. One of the reasons for me being active on this website is to give my views and insights that came from my trials and tribulations, which I learned a lot and it has assisted me in Maturing as a Man. I've been in prison for the better part of my life and I've seen the ill wills and the degradation that men go through on a daily basis. It brings me to this, that we as people have to take the time out and give so that our youth and those that don't have a voice are heard to those that can't hear the voice. Society barriers must become open and know/learn of those forgotten voices that have something to say.
