No Justice! No Retroactivity!

Congress is actively working on merging a combination of justice reform bills, following a direct order from President Trump. Trump has finally had a change of heart with regard to reforming the justice system, correcting misinterpret federal statute and allowing defendants access to legislation that was pass based on proven racial disparity found in federal drug laws. Three major components of the current legislation republican’s are striving to past in the next few weeks is:
* Lowering the mandatory life sentence for non-violent drug offenders to 25 years.
* Repeal the 924(c) “Stacking” provision that allows defendants to receive consecutive 25 year sentence for gun possession.
* Judges not required to sentence defendants to mandatory consecutive sentences for certain federal offenses.
Theses three section of Sentencing Reform Correction Act, would allow hundreds of defendants who’s been denied release for decades and opportunity at a second chance at freedom. Yet certain republican congressional leaders are refusing to make these section retroactive to those who have served decades. They want these new laws to only apply to those who violate these laws after the bill is passed. The refusal to make these sections of the bill retroactive…is a refusal to render justice. What is Justice reform if it isn’t just to those victimized by the laws that are being reformed.
Can you imagine how slave would of felt if the Emancipation Proclamation Act was never made “RETROACTIVE”, slave would have been force to watch their children live…lives as free men. While they remained slaves. There are thousands of families who suffered severely from the extensive incarceration of their love one’s. Tax payer’s are being burden by the continued heightening cost of incarceration of elderly men, who are no longer a public safety risk and who recidivism rate is deem to be extremely low.
Therefore, it is are responsibility to insure that “All…” members of congress insure that the injustice being correcting in their reform bill is retroactive. If you believe in justice make sure you email, call, and or write your local congressman and share this post with others. Let your congressman and local representative know… “No Justice! No Retroactivity!”

That means the moral dissension that taking place currently is nothing new. Historian have written about times where the moral fabric of a nation was so tattered where the only solution for change was war a destruction. This country was built and establish to be the nation it is today. By the disenfranchised, those who were being oppressed by the Queen and her fellow Aristocrats. Therefore if this country is to change once again for the better. It will begin and must begin with the actions and the voice of the disenfranchised i.e, America's minorities, poor and it's third class citizen the American Ex-felon. That being said I'm committed to "WRITING MY WRONGS..." and sewing seed of knowledge and truth that will blossom into peace, prosperity and positive change
