Attention: NFL Players
First and foremost I’d like to commend you for responding to President Trumps request for the name of those you know who you would like to see pardon to and injustice in their sentence and or conviction. I also respect the stance some of you have recently taken, informing Trump that “Every one who has been wrongly sentence doesn’t know a pro-athlete.” So what you would like to see is… all non-violent drug offenders who have served over a decade, those who are over 60 years old pardon and the statutory max of Life for a drug offenses removed.
At the same time I’d like for you guys to have a clear understanding, from the perspective of a convict. This opportunity that has been bestowed upon you…Is simply that “A OPPORTUNITY” if done to broadly it maybe a missed opportunity.
Because those like myself could potentially be home for Christmas this year, if this is done correctly.
Therefore, I had to weigh in and advise you on the best route you guys should take in order to take full advantage of this opportunity, verses letting allowing it to pass by us by broadening it beyond Trumps reach or power.
That being said, I recommend all NFL players who are in support of helping non-violent drug offenders get pardon. Reach out to different orgs such as Convict Soap Box, FAMM, CAN-DO, and UnitedforChange. Soliciting Names of those they feel who really need this opportunity to get relief, do to sentences that are unconstitutional or exceed the petitioner’s liability with regard to current laws or role in his or her offense. As well as those who have served over a decade for a non-violent offense and or who is over 60 years of age. Those who have served close to two decades deserve full pardons and should be prioritized with regard to release because most of these people have serve sentence well over their statutory max under the current laws.
As far as getting Trump to change the statutory max of life for drug offenders. This is beyond Trumps power this must be en-acted by congress and has been hindered by the republican party for far to long. Therefore, this opportunity that Trump has now laid at your feet is the best chance that close to 5000 inmates have at getting out of prison after serving extensive amount of time for non-violent offenses.
Therefore, over the next 60 days I would advice you guys to do a name drive for pardon petitioner’s. These orgs will submit the names to you including information about the :
Name:
Age:
Case number:
Offense of conviction:
Sentence:
Time Served:
If the following information fall within the below criteria then these individuals names should be submitted to president Trump for Pardon.
Petitioner’s been sentence for non-violent offense such as 846, 841(a)(1) possession, sales, distribution of a controlled substance, 924(c) possession of firearm and any other non-violent offense.
By September you guys should have a long list of names as well as pardon petition to submit to president Trump personally. His signature should take no time and allot of us can be home for Thanks Giving and Christmas.
At the end of the day. You guys are right many of the people who need your support don’t know any of you personally. Therefore, your collective support, supporting a collective of individuals is the right approach. So why not approach this in a strategic manner, which will essence render the greatest results.
At the end of the day I’ve been down now over 19 years and I am amongst many other’s who are praying that you guys get behind this and help us over come a obstacle that has for far to long seem almost impossible to get over. We can now see the forest from the tree’s and we see you as our number 1 advocates in our battle for justice.
Please don’t take it for granted. Know that your time and consideration is and will be truly appreciated. God Bless you all.
Sincerely, Demond A. Jackson
