God Of A Second Chance

My name is Turner Ashe Jr #07029-028, I was sentenced to “life” in Federal Prison on October 31, 2003 for a non-violent drug offense. This testimony that you are about to read is my second article that has been published with this web site concerning my victory in Christ Jesus, my first testimonial was titled “Faith And My Testimony” this article spoke of the things that led me to give my life to Christ. This second testimonial is titled “God Of A Second Chance” this article will explain how God blessed and held me after I gave my life to Christ Jesus and accepted Him as my Lord and Savior and how God promise to work everything together for Us who loves Him and whom are called according to His purpose (Rom 8:28) and how He allowed me to put Him in remembrance of His word and receive Clemency from President Barack Obama.

The word of God Said “To test all thing and to keep what is good (1Thes:5), Jesus Christ said that I am the Truth, the Way and the Life no one comes to the Father except through Me (Jn 14:6). The word of God says that without faith it is impossible to please Him for he who comes to Him must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those whom diligently seeks Him (Heb11:6). In the Book of Acts Jesus told His Apostles that they shall be baptized in the Holy spirit and when the Holy Spirit comes upon them they shall receive power (Acts 1:4-8), I received that power and the promise of Christ on August 21, 2014 when I repented and re-accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior and asked God to baptize me with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. That night while lying in my prison bunk thanking God for answering my prayers I was instantaneously over whelmed by the Holy Spirit and my eyes started watering and my tongue had swollen up in my mouth to the point that my prayer that I was praying had ceased, and a funny feeling which I later learned was the utterance of the Holy spirit that wanted to pray to God in that unknown tongue on my behalf, I knew then that God was real and the 2000 year promise from Christ concerning the Comforter, the Helper, the Spirit of Truth was real (Jn 4:15-18). A little under a year after accepting Jesus as my Lord and Savior the power of the Holy Spirit prepared me for the passing of my wife and best friend of over 30 years passed away instantly (within 2 months of her diagnosis) from stomach cancer. I can truly say that God held me and kept me strong, without Christ as the head of my house I would have not made it, I would have snapped and had not received my blessings that God had spoken to my wife concerning my freedom. The power of God whom formed us all was directing my paths during the most difficult and trying times of my life, I can honestly tell you whom are believers in the word of God and those of you wham has not accepted Jesus, I want you to know that God is real and you can talk to Him as if you are talking to your best friend or family member. God says that “He watches over His word to perform it” (Jer 1:12 amp.ver), He also stated “That the words that He spoke forth from His mouth would not return back to Him void, but they shall go out and accomplish what He pleases and prosper in all the ways for which He sent them (Is 55:11). God words came to my wife concerning my freedom, I was at F.C.I. Terre Haute when she walked into the visiting room and she looked at me and said Baby God spoke to me concerning you, He told me that you would not come home from prison unless you give your life to Him …

In August of 2014 the same month that I received Christ, President Barack Obama started his Clemency Initiative Project that freed well over 1,000 prisoners that were serving harsh prison sentences for mostly non-violent drug offenses such as myself, the media had reported that if a federal prisoner was to be granted clemency that would be equivalent to hitting the powerball lottery. Now lets fast forward this story to January 17, 2017 the day when I spoke to God and put Him in remembrance of His word (Is 43:26). I was laying on my prison bunk praying, I was stressing about me not receiving clemency from President Obama, I knew the word of God and His promises, I knew that He could not lie (Num 23:19)(Titus 1:2) so I went to praying reminding Him of His promise to free the prisoners (Is 61)(Jer 29:11-14), I told God that He said that He will never leave me or forsaken me (Heb13:5) and that whatever I ask for in prayer to believe that I have alre dy received it and it shall be mine ( Lk 11:  ), I told God that the next time my name was called by the unit officer that I was going to go and my victory of freedom that He pledged to me through my wife because I was His I had given my life to Christ as I was instructed. Praise God that He could not lie and that He loves us so much that He hears and answers His children calls and supply all of our needs in accordance to his grace and mercy through Christ Jesus(   ). 20 minutes after I put God in remembrance of His words concerning my freedom, the unit officer called me to his office and told me that I was needed at the lieutenants office on the next move and he stated that I should dress to impress, I knew then that God had answered my prayers. It is amazing how God moves in our life , He prepare you for His greatness and comfort without your knowledge, He spoke this very moment into existence even before I was born (wow). I went to the lieutenants office at which time I had a conference call with my clemency attorney Mrs. Geneva Brown and she told me that my “Life Sentence” had been commuted to 18 years 6 months and that I should be home no later than January 17, 2018, praise Him , praise the Lord Jehovah for using President Obama to do His will, I thank you God for holding me close in my time of need … God you pomised to never leave me nor forsaken me as long as I keep my eye on You, and I thank you for working all of my good and bad together for your purpose (Rom 8:28). It is awesome to serve a God who truly loves us and listen to us, I can truly say that God heard my prayers because I was faithful, not perfect just faithful, the very faith that is need to please Him in all of our situations. My walk with Christ is all that could sustain me when all else failed, when everthing else seemed bleak and unobtainable God stepped in and sustained me as he promised. Thank You Father for being a God Of A Second Chance and for those of you that are standing on the outside of Gods word and feel as though you are at lifes end, please get out of your own way and let go and let God, Give your life to Christ Jesus ….
