“Now..you understand…”
By Demond A. Jackson
“Caught on tape, 57 year old African American man shot and killed by South Carolina Police Office.” ” South Carolina Officer actions deemed excessive and considered criminal.” “South Carolina Police officer involved in shooting of 57 year old African American charged with murder and fired from the force.”
Why does have to take the release of a video to prove that a officer action should be deemed criminal? Especially when the officers action are strongly in question with regard to his or her use of excessive force. Under the current standard of law a officer is basically innocent of murder or attempted murder as long as he or she claims “I felt my life was in danger.” Therefore society and the justice system has been without question except these individuals reports and word for what it is. But once a video is release proving that criminal thinking does not supersede the minds of law enforcement.
“Now..you understand…!”
It’s sad to see advocates for law enforcement, struggle with everything in their power, trying to come up with excuses for what this officer has done. Yet the proof is so clear based on the false report he wrote versus what happen on the video that these advocate now must concede, that what this South Carolina officer did was cold blooded unadulterated murder.
So now we’ve got to asked ourselves “How many times has the situation been the same in other case’s, yet there was no video to prove the excessive force and the questionable action of other officer’s?”
For those of you who been blogging that these Police shooting of African American have nothing to do with race or officers abusing their power “Now..you understand…! That there are clear cases, where these things, are the deciding factor in how justice is being implemented to people who have been deemed unworthy of life and/or freedom by law enforcement.
Now..you understand…! that America is… dealing with a real dilemma, because in timed like these, where the whole world is watching and judging the action of American police officers. The gall, disregarded of public opinion and the repercussion one would face for such action is sincerely appalling. This man did not hesitate for one second, to pull his gun and maliciously shoot a man in the back. He was so conscious of his actions and a mean to justify it, that he instantly called the incident in to the dispatcher claiming the victim went for his taser gun and in the same context he attempted to place his taser on the ground next to the dying man as evidence to support his story.
This man almost got away with the perfect crime!!!!
If it wasn’t for a compassionate law abiding citizen, who just so happen to have his camera phone available. The officer would have gotten away with murder. The man who video tape the incident was interviewed and stated: “He almost erased the video tape out of fear of facing retribution from the police department.” He also stated: It wasn’t until he heard the police report of the officer that he decided to turn the video in and expose the truth.
This man is an example for those if you don’t believe hard working people in America have a justified reason to fear law enforcement. But a bet, Now..you understand…! that their fear are legitimate. Now..you understand… that justice isn’t always fair and that it’s time for those of us as a nation to passionately raise our voices to create positive change now and correct the injustice of yesterday.
That being said, for those of you who question why I do what I do and believe in what I believe in.
Now..do-you-understand!!!
